We are facing a housing crisis in Colorado. Major cities are bulldozing neighborhoods and displacing residents to make way for luxury developments that are too costly for the city’s average workforce to afford.
• Ensure that our workforce has a place to live and prosper by requiring at least 30% of all new housing developments qualify as affordable according to the Housing Affordability Index
• The cost of a home in Lakewood is now nearly twice the annual household income – if development plans continue, this gap will only increase, pricing our workforce out of housing options
• Limit the ability of individual cities from pushing their homeless populations out into neighboring cities and counties through ‘urban camping’ prohibitions
